Device for monitoring oil and gas pipelines using a UAV with reduced vibration of drive motors through the use of solid-state dampers
Relevance. Obtaining timely information on the technical condition of pipelines is key to ensuring their reliable operation. This task can be accomplished using unmanned monitoring devices. Depending on the task, these devices can take photos and videos of monitored objects, measure background radiation, and more. Due to their mobility and ability to operate in hard-to-reach and hazardous areas, these devices significantly accelerate monitoring of the condition of objects and improve operational safety compared to traditional methods. The onboard equipment of these monitoring devices includes optical instruments that are required to perform photos and videos, depending on the current task. However, vibration from the electromechanical devices of the motor group, which occurs onboard the monitoring devices, introduces measurement errors during flight missions. Consequently, vibration from the monitoring device motors affects the quality and accuracy of the measured data, and therefore the resulting information on the technical condition of the pipeline. This vibration is caused by the operating principle of the ball bearings, as well as the coincidence of the device operating frequency with the natural frequency of the monitoring device structural elements. Since it is technically impossible to completely eliminate the vibration activity of electromechanical devices, the development of a damping device has become a pressing research objective. This will reduce motor vibration and minimize vibration impact on the measuring instruments installed in the monitoring devices. Object. Cellular solid-state damper, made by additive method. Aim. To develop a design of a solid-state damper mock-up based on a cellular structure and to evaluate the effectiveness of its application to reduce the level of vibroactivity on board the device monitoring the trunk of oil and gas pipelines. Methods. Modern approaches of vibration diagnostics, methods of computational mathematics and application of modern means of vibration measurement. Results. Showed the possibility of creating a solid-state damper based on a cellular structure of a polymer glass-filled composite. The device reduces the vibration amplitude from electromechanical devices more than twice in the range of operating frequencies of the rotation of the engines.
