Assessment of the state and possibility of including in urban planning activities turnover the territories man-made damaged during the development of deposits

Relevance. The need to return the disturbed land plots located within the city limits to the public in a timely manner. Since the current rate of reclamation is very low compared to the annual volume of disturbances and does not always take into account the real needs of the population, it is necessary to pay close attention to the problem of restoring such territories. Aim. Assessment of the possibility of including territories technogenically disturbed during mining operations in urban development circulation for the subsequent selection of the direction of their optimal use. To achieve this goal, the following objectives were set: analyze construction material deposits located within the Novosibirsk agglomeration; identify man-made sites that could be included in urban development activities; assess the condition of the land using a specific selected site as an example; and consider the possibility of subsequently using such a site as a recreational area. Methods. Analysis of the geological, hydrogeological, and engineering-geological conditions of the occurrence of the construction rock deposits under consideration, as well as literary sources; mapping of man-made lands based on determining factors, synthesis of approaches to assessing their condition according to the proposed criteria; determination of trace gas components and aerosol parameters using a Yak-40 laboratory aircraft equipped with specialized equipment. Results and conclusions. The authors have identified six objects that potentially correspond to the urban development plan of citywide significance and suitable for functional use in the system of recreational spaces. Their condition was assessed using a methodology that includes 11 criteria, and a matrix was compiled according to the levels of impact on the environment. The data and indicators obtained during the study suggest that not all flooded reservoirs are suitable for use as recreational areas or leisure zones, and, taking into account the analysis of the data obtained, it is proposed to return the active Borok and Mochische open pin to use through alternative reclamation methods. It is shown that the use of a recreational area with the creation of a multi-purpose reservoir as an environmental direction of land reclamation is not always possible, since these objects must comply with the regulatory requirements for water bodies and adjacent recreation areas. Using the example of the Borok, several options for alternative use of the quarry as a recreational area are proposed.
