Features of the technogenic geochemical background in the soil cover of mining-industrial areas in the Perm Krai

Relevance. Vast territories outside the zones of direct impact of industrial facilities and large settlements, retaining signs of normal zonal development, nevertheless experience anthropogenic load that does not lead to the loss of stability of geosystems. All the effects, overlapping each other, gradually transform the natural zonal geochemical background of the territory, forming a technogenic background. Aim. To analyze the geochemical features in the soils of territories outside the areas of direct anthropogenic impact and the specifics of the forming technogenic background of mining and industrial areas. Object. Soils of the territory of Verkhnekamsk industrial district (Perm region, Russia). The research was carried out in the territories with different anthropogenic load. Methods. System analysis, including the analysis of patterns of development of natural systems, generalization and statistical processing of empirical data. Geochemical and statistical methods were used to determine the anthropogenic background. Results. Ecological condition of soils adjacent to industrial areas, assessed by the refined pollution index S, is characterized in the rank “anthropogenic background”. In spite of different intensity of technogenic load, the soils of the areas adjacent to industrial territories differ little from the soils of background areas by geochemical features. The technogenic geochemical background is characterized by cadmium accumulation relative to the clark of the upper part of the continental crust, accumulation of elements relative to the background area in the form of geochemical series: Ni>Cd>Cu, Zn, Pb>As.
